Zablace is a small fishing settlement, 9 km south of Sibenik on the main road towards Split. It was first mentioned in the 15th century when the local saltworks were opened. The inhabitants of Zablace traditionally grow citrus fruit and olives, and many of them are fishermen. Tasty homegrown food and recently caught fish as well as excellent homemade wines are served in local restaurants. Zablace, surrounded by pine trees, is an ideal place for a quiet family holiday. If you are looking for some entertainment or recreation there is the Solaris tourist complex only 500 m away. With numerous sporting facilities and various types of entertainment it is considered one of the best equipped and maintained tourist centers on the Adriatic. Cultural events take place in the nearby city of Sibenik, for example summer festivals such as the children's festival and the chanson festival. Due to the medicinal mud found close to the place itself, Zablace could in the future develop into a health resort. Concrete and pebble beaches are at your disposal in Zablace. Beside visiting Sibenik while staying here make a day trip to Krka National Park or to Kornati National Park or to the islands of the Sibenik archipelago: Kaprije, Krapanj, Murter, Prvic, Zlarin and Zirje.
