Raslina is a small picturesque place 5 km north of Sibenik on the local road to Raslina that branches off of the main road at Sibenski Zaton. It is placed on the shores of Prokljansko lake which is connected to the sea by a narrow channel. The lake is nearly 7 km long and 3 km wide and it lies at the mouth of Krka river. Particular types of fish live in this mixture of salt and fresh water that is why Raslina is known for its seafood restaurants serving Dalmatian gastronomic specialties, including traditional dishes with eels and oysters. The population of this village is oriented to farming, fishing, and recently to tourism. The accomodation is offered in the private rooms, apartments and camps. There is a concrete swimming beach on the shores of the lake, surrounded by dense vegetation. Raslina is ideal for a quiet family holiday. Special curiosities worth visiting are the ruins of ancient and medieval sacral architecture on the islet of Stipananac in Prokljansko lake and the palace of the Gavran's, source of many local legends. There are also some other interesting places nearby like Krka National Park; several hiking trails lead from Raslina to the Krka National Park, and the cities Sibenik, Skradin, Vodice and Zaton. | |   |   | |
