Grohote is the most important town in the interior of the island of Solta, placed barely a kilometer from the coast. The island is located not far from Split, so this village is very easy to reach with the regular ferry lines.
Small stone alleys “Kalete” in the village take you hundred years before our time and show you the charms of this small Mediterranean village. Grohote has many remains of Roman times like covers of ancient sarcophagi. There are the remains of an old Christian basilica with a baptismal font of it.
